Sharyn Alexander - Arts for Healing

In addition to creating my own work, I have been producing and facilitating Creative Arts programs. Sessions are designed to nurture creativity while meeting the unique needs of individuals often with challenging medical or mental health conditions.

These person-centered programs promote self exploration, build skills, increase confidence, self esteem, enjoyment, relaxation and stress reduction, all of which foster healing. Creativity offers non verbal means for self expression and has the potential to transform and enhance the quality of life.

We use a variety of professional artist supplies and nonconventional materials such as found objects and recyclable items. In an open studio environment I offer instruction in a variety of techniques including painting, printmaking, collage, mask making, ceramics and sculpture.
